Everyone is allowed to make only one thread. On this thread you post all your information, such as your friend code(s), your team(s), etc. An example can be found here. It doesn't have to look like that, but it gives you an idea. You can include whatever you want in your post.
It's absolutely necessary to make this thread if you want to battle with other people!
Other people can post on your thread if they want to battle with you or you can post on their thread if you don't want to wait for someone to post on yours! After the battle either you or your opponent posts who won the battle. You both have to update your first post, though!
Every won battle can earn you points, which you can spend on items. This still has to be set up, so you don't have to worry too much about this yet.
When you're posting on someone else's thread, it's important you include the following things:
- Friend code
- Level of the pokémon (50, 100 or free)
- Battle style (1v1, 2v2 or 3v3)
- Number of pokémon you're going to use
- Tier (Uber, Over-Used, Borderline, Under-Used, Never-Used, Not Fully Evolved)*
- Clauses
*Not everyone is familiar with the tiers, so it's not necessary to mention it in your post! More information about tiers can be found here.
Hacked pokémon are not allowed, unless someone is looking to battle with someone who has a hacked team!
You can decide which clause(s) you're going to use. This has to be mentioned in the first post of your thread.
If your opponent breaks the rules you've agreed on, you should PM me!
Clauses:
Evasion clause
You and your opponent can't use evasion increasing moves like Double Team and Minimize. This clause does not include Accuracy reducing moves, though.
OHKO clause
You and your opponent can not use moves that causes instant one-hit knockouts. Sheer Cold, Fissure, and Guillotine are examples of OHKO moves.
Legit clause
None of the pokémon can have illegal movesets, 999 in all stats, 255 EVs in all stats, or have been caught in places that they normally wouldn't have been caught at. An example of an illegal moveset would be would be a Magnezone with Flamethrower or Salamance with Ice Beam.
Sleep clause
Only one pokémon can be to sleep at a time. The only time your opponent or you can use another sleep move is when their or your pokémon either wakes up or faints, then your opponent or you can use a sleep move again. The move Rest does not count toward sleep clause.
Species clause
You and your opponent can not use more then one of the same pokémon. This means that you or your opponent can not use two Infernapes or Garchomps or two of the same pokémon in general.
Uber clause
You and your opponent can not use ubers in a battle.
Focus Sash/Choice item clause
You and your opponent can not use more than one Focus Sash and choice items (Choice Scarf, Choice Specs, Choice Band) in a battle.
Freeze clause
You and your opponent can not use moves that can freeze you after a pokémon has already been frozen. You will have to wait for the frozen pokémon to faint or thaw out before you can use another move that can possibly cause a freeze.
Item clause
You and your opponent can not use pokémon that hold the same items on their team. Leftovers is usually excluded from item clause, but it is up to the person who uses the clause.
Luck item clause
You and your opponent can not use items that rely on luck to be activated. Some examples are Focus Band, Bright Powder, and Quick Claw.
Self-KO clause
You and your opponent can not use moves that KO yourself when it is your last pokémon vs your opponent's last pokémon. This is to avoid draws in battle. Some examples are Self-Destruct and Explosion. Destiny Bond does fall under this clause if it works.
SkarmBliss/SkarmCressBliss clause
You and your opponent can not use both Skarmory and Blissey (and Cresselia, if you are using SkarmCressBliss clause) on the same team. You can only have one of them on your team.
